Curly Swirly....

Last week, when I spent half saturday night at Braga, I talk with Dita about a topics that really basic... 'what's your goal? what do you want to do for your future?'

The first answer came up : I want to be happy. Get a master and become manager before 30, purchase my own car and appartment when I'm still single, pay my parrent go Hajj, married, have family... etc... etc... standard paradigm of happiness.

But I wasn't sure, is that really what I want? What is happiness?
Then I think about some example...

For my papa and mama, happiness is as simply as see their children grow up well, get proper education, and become a better man than they were... and I see it for my whole life, how hard their effort to make it come true.

For my other relative, happiness is another word for being wealth. Able to purchase all they want, get new and better (more expensive) car, and the solution they have is to become PNS with good pension... something that I can never agree.

For some of my friend, happiness is about fall in love. Meet charming, attractive, wealth, and romantic guy, who can give you everything, from a romantic dinner to wedding ring, from a kiss to children... hahaha... something that I can never imagine for myself.

For other people, happiness is about surviving. To avoid being shot in the way to the market, to run away from the explosive bomb, to be together with family in the time of chaos, to keep faith in God, that God always give you every best of the world that you need.

And then... what is happiness for me?? is it about power? is it about title? is it about salary?

Then I realize that I never know it.

Dita told me, that the focus is not about happiness you want to win. Life is not about what you may get before you die, it's about every effort you put in everything you do.

After work hard a whole day, you never know what will you get by the end of the day, is it a praise from your boss?? or a scold?? will you get a promotion or being fired?? you'll never know, the only thing you know for sure is you gave all your best. Put the consistency in the process, in the effort, not just the goal. You can change your goal every minute or every second, depend on changes in your life, the only thing that has to be in place is hardwork. For every second God has given to you, for every chance that you've got. 'Ain't about what's waiting on the other side, It's the climb'.

Haaahhh... so easy to said than done... because every bad things always dressed beautifully, including laziness.

Mr. Mario Teguh said, that there're only two ways a man can be seen as a strong man :
go to work with the spirit of ikhlas, and go home with the spirit of tawakal....

semangat ya... :)

thinking of our life after death is also important.
probably we can achieve the real happiness there (or the worst nightmare instead)
however, I'm not sure since I've not been dead yet. :D
